All my games don't look very good

Hi all, I had make a thread about this earlier but hadn't gotten an answer so I am trying again now :) I built a new higher end pc about 9 months ago and it can run basically anything on max graphics. However, none of the games actually look that great. It kind of looks like the anti aliasing is set to low but it's not. Everything is maxed out and at 1920 X 1080 but it still looks bad. The games I notice it most with is Far Cry 3 and Tomb Raider. I know they are older games but they still look very nice, although even a game like Watch dogs doesn't even look that great. Far Cry 3 looks like borderlands and very cartoony on my pc 😛 I am thinking there might be an issue of my settings getting blocked or washed down by Catalyst Control Center but all the settings there look fine. I googled this issue but couldn't find any other people with this issue.

My specs are:

Radeon MSI R9 280X video card

Display is 1920 X 1080 (32 bit) (60 Hz)

AMD FX 6300 6 core processor

16 gigs ram

Windows 8.1 64 bit

I believe my power supply is 500 wats but I don't really think that's the problem 😛

I will put a screenshot of my CCC setting in here as well.

Hopefully somebody can help me out, and I hope it's actually something with my PC and not just me thinking they look bad, although if I look at a video of somebody playing a game at 1080p with it maxed out I can see a big difference between theirs and mine. Thank you :)

James

PS. I don't know if my setting are actually good in my CCC I just set them all to the highest 😛 I'm kind of a noob when it comes to that sort of thing 😛

lol for a start put your ccc panel back to defaults. you only change them if the game specifically requires you to.
then its only 1-2 settings at a time and they need to be reset 1s you stop playing games.
if a game has SMAA then turn on morphilogical filters in the ccc pannel. if it uses msaa or fxaa then morphilogical filters needs to be off, as it will conflict.
basically what you have done by setting everything to on is robbed your gpu of a good portion of its performance.

so like i say set the ccc panels options back to default.
now load up your game and select high quality settings 1920/1080 and it should look as good as advertised. if you get more than 60fps average then try ultra.

Ok thanks 😀 I will look into it :)

Haha like I said I don't really know what I am doing XD I will reset everything I and try it out, thank you :)

EDIT: I am still not noticing a difference. Maybe it's just me thinking it looks bad? Would screen shots of gameplay help at all?

It doesn't really show it much in picture as it turn out :/ I will put one anyway. I will also put one another person took. This was the best one I could take that sort of shows my issue. My picture is the first one, the second picture is someone elses. Their game is a lot more crisp and cleaner.

Everything just looks a little bit cartoony. I think it actually does look slightly better than before with the CCC changes, so maybe this is the best I'm going to get?

That's very interesting! What brightness/ settings for my monitor would you suggest 😀

Unfortunately most of my games don't even have a option to change gamma, that or I'm blind XD
I will keep that in mind if I can't find any other solution :) Thank you for the suggestions :)

It does look somewhat better, thank you :) But I will attach a video of 1080 p gameplay that somebody else recorded. I think part of the problem is lighting? I don't get those effects in game, and the textures looked better too. I have no idea what I am missing, and I don't think he was using any lighting mods. http:// The best way to describe mine is that the anti aliasing isn't working and the lighting is messed up.
