Hi my monitor was working fine until one day it turned off and then I tried turning it on but it only stays on for a few seconds if I try turning it back on, I had another older lcd monitor that I tried and then the same thing happened with that one, the monitor worked for 5 minutes for some reason then it turned off and it wont stay on for more than a few seconds anymore, next I tried an old crt monitor and it does stay on but oddly the screen is warped and stretched so that I cant see the edges of the image, I tried every setting on my monitor but nothing changed it, something must be going on here and my pc is running fine so I dont think its a power problem, I have tried all of these monitors on a different pc in a different room and they all act the same so something must be breaking my monitors, the graphics card I was using when the first one broke I took out and tried the integrated graphics with the other lcd and crt monitor so its not the graphics card I was using either, Im confused whats the problem here, if anyone knows it would be great

Quick test try watching Television though a cable box with the monitors, or plug a dvd player and watching something. If it works fine then its your computer at fault. Also it could be a faulty cable but CRT's use different cables so that won't be it. It's really weird that all 3 monitors would be faulty and your computer stays on 5 minutess before a problem occurs. Its happened to your set up before where you needed to replace a gpu and this is most likely because it overheated.
Ok so I'm assuming you tried the crt monitor right after your other monitor had problems and this would tell you that the graphic processing unit is at fault but the bigger issue here is not the gpu but your fan's. Make sure your fan's are spinning moving air... if they are not that would cause the gpu to overheat then black screen while the computer stays on. Your power supply's fan may have failed so that causes your gpu to heat up faster that the other fans can pull air and push air out of your case. Also if you closed your case off from the outside completly for some reason then no air can flow and your computer will just overheat really fast.

If you want to use your computer now open up the side and grab a fan for blowing air in your household and face that at your gpr/motherboard/cpu. It may keep it cool enough for you to use your computer for more than 5 minutes. Also open a window to your area if you find your room heating up. This is to lower the rooms ambient temperature so your fan's can keep the hardware cooler.
