Solution
If you did not format your flash drive, then check whether the files are not in

hidden mode. Follow the following steps.

Step 1:

Click on the below link and download the file "AutorunExterminator"

http://en.kioskea.net/download/download-11613-autorun-exterminator

Extract it --> Double-click on "AutorunExterminator" --> Plug your pendrive now.

This will remove the autorun.inf files from your pendrive and also from drives.

Step 2:

Click on "Start" -->Run --> type cmd and click on OK.

Here I assume your pen drive letter as G:

Enter this command.

attrib -h -r -s /s /d g:\*.*

You can copy the above command --> Right-click in the Command Prompt and

paste it.

Note : Don't forget to replace the letter g with your pen...

Now press "Enter".

Now check for your files in Pen Drive.

Step 3:

After that, download the Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from the below link

http://en.kioskea.net/download/download-105-malwarebytes-anti-malware

Update it --> Perform "Full Scan"

Note : Default selected option is "Quick Scan".

Good Luck.

Hey, Celin, I am having a similar problem as mohd paeh, but there is a problem when I followed your given solution,
In step 2, while checking for files in my flash drive from cmd.exe, there is no response from the Command Prompt. It simply gives me the line above, i.e. C:\Users\Krishnam>. Why isn't it showing any files?

This will solve your problem. I had the same problem with all my pen drives, whatever I put it through "send to" all my files are short cuts and still occupy my pendrive space. This small software solved my problem.

Good luck.

This works. I tried.
Go to Folder Options and click Show hidden files. Also uncheck “Hide protected system files”. Now you should be able to view the hidden folders and files. Now go to the USB Drive and there you will find a folder with a USB icon and no name. Open it ............................... All your files are there.
