All new HDD I install, I get "data error (cyclic redundancy check)" when trying to initialise?

I have just bought 2 Seagate Barracuda ST31000528AS HDD's. They're not showing up in My Computer, but they are in the BIOS and Computer Management. When I tried to initialise them both, they both came up with "data error (cyclic redundancy check)". How can I fix this? Thanks.

CRC generally points towards a failing drive.
Where did you buy them from?

Seatools, from Seagate.

If it can see the drive, run that.
And contact the retailer or Seagate.
