Solution
I see that quite a bit after windows 10 does auto-updates, try installing the latest version of DDU from https://www.wagnardsoft.com/ and also grab the latest stable version of your GPU drivers, boot up into safe mode and give DDU a run to clean all gpu drivers, unplug the network cable to prevent driver auto-updates, reboot then install your GPU drivers and plug in the network cable and hopefully all is well - better guide than my banter here
