All of my games are crashing.

Every game I play crashes, all at random intervals, some more than others, and most are not related to problems within the game itself(30+ games all crashing, at between 30min - 10hrs ingame).

My computer isnt anything special, but it should have no problem with anything(hardware never overheats - cpu, gpu, etc) - 2- 4GB sticks of RAM, 4 core- intel i5's, AMD Radeon(manufactured by gigabyte) 6850.

All drivers are up to date, and memory never goes over 5GB w/o playing a game(and ive never seen a game go over 2GB, with most capping at around 1GB RAM) I do however have a rather large amount of processes going in the background at any given time(averaging around 130 processes).

Nothing else crashes, just games, does not matter if they run DX9c, DX9b, DX10, DX11, etc.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated, and will update this post's info as needed/requested.

Nothing is overclocked, and this is a custom built(custom-built off of one of the suggested hardware specs on this site itself)

And the power supply... Am not sure what power supply I have(CPUID doesnt show it, nor does anything in the system area for windows), my power settings are set to default in MSI control panel, and changing them to gaming settings does not fix this problem either, nor do I find it produces any real difference in gaming, or anything at that matter(pushes another 40% volts into most hardware)

quite likely a powersuply

most people overlook the psu and get the cheapest one avalible

personally id argue that the psu is the most important component in a pc

because it is directly plugged into graphics card, motherboard and hard drives

if it goes faulty it could kill all those parts

electronics are very sensitive, if there are voltage fluctutations it will shorten the lifespan or outright kill components

(take the left panel off pc, after unpluggin from wall. the psu will be at top left inside case and should have a brand name and maybe model in it)

might be elsewhere in case but thats were most are

Ahhh, just pulled off side panel and checked, it is a corsair TX650 enthusiast series:

Have ran a full scan through norton, and also a full multi-reboot scan through norton's Power Eraser. Have also ran a full scan through microsoft security essentials(for howmuch that is worth)

But will also run that scan.
If that does not work, plan to do a reinstall of windows today.

if you have an external drive/ more than one partition on hdd

it would be worth using something like clonezilla/ (norton ghost my favorite)

to clone the c drive/ partition. that way if you have any partition it is quick to fix.

naw, my externals are all full, and my 2 drives are also near full.

When I say crashes, I mean that the game itself has crashed with the "[name] has stopped responding"

This happens with many games, is what im focused on, not focused on some of my other games which CTD w/o an error message, because those crashes are specific to that game itself(through extensive checking)

Changing compatibility mode per game also does not seem to help this.
Most of my games(except steam) run in admin priv's

To give a good grouping of how widespread the crashing is, I see this crashing in:

Age of Empires 3
America's Army 3
Amnesia: The Dark Decent
BBC2
Cities XL 2012
Bioshock 2
Left 4 Dead 1 and 2
Hard Reset
ARMA 2
NFSW
Mass Effect 3
Port Royale 3
Prototype 1
World in Conflict
World of Tanks(Although primary crashing is game related, I still see some of this crashed)
Supreme commander 2
World of Warcraft
Tropico 4
X3 Terran Conflict
X3 Albion Prelude
Skyrim
Resident Evil 4
Resident Evil Operation Raccoon city
Batman: Arkham City
Ghost Recon Online
Blacklight: Retribution
Dead Island
Endless Space
Crysis 2
Civilization V
Star Trek Online
King Arthur II
King Arthur Fallen Champions
Napoleon Total War
Men of War: Vietnam
Men of War: Assault Squad
L.A. Noire
Need for Speed the Run
Need for Speed Hot Pursuit(2010)
ParaWorld
Heroes In The Sky
GTA San Andreas
GTA4(unconfirmed if it is the game itself crashing, or the mods producing unstability, crashing very rare unless using something that screw with d3d9.dll - gameplay recording programs)

...
And many more which I hope I dont have to list 😛
