All PC audio has stopped working

Hi, for the last year and a half, I have had no issues with my PC audio. The front and rear audio has worked with no issues up until today. I tested out a graphics card for my friend that had stopped working to test if it had broken and sure enough, the card was dead. Testing the card has seemed to kill my onboard sound card as whenever I plug a device into any of the ports, they are not recognised and dont appear in the audio devices list. All I can hear is a static crackling noise. Any help would be great.
