Hello, before I start, I would like to point out that I am new to this so please don't make a fuss over something stupid I may say.

Recently, All my ports were closed due to my external IP changing. Disabling Firewall, Resetting the router and recreating the ports did not work. Every other solution I've tried ended up with the same results on canyouseeme.org,

Can anyone guide me through on how to fix this? thanks,

-Joe

Are you hosting a game server or something?
If it's a game have you checked to see if people can join your host regardless of what can you see me says?

If there isn't a program actively running to accept the information coming in on that port you can see the error messages of it being refused or timed out. Open w/e game/program etc you are forwarding the traffic to. Alt tab out of it and run your test again.

*edit* Ipconfig is showing a static ip? That might be the issue there... Have you hard set your ip? Unless you requested a Static Ip directly from your isp (ISP's will charge for a static ip) they would be...
Assuming this is a home network and a non static ip correct?

What is the error message you receive when your trying to make contact from canyouseeme.org?
Is it Connection refused or Connection timed out?
Also assuming that you are trying to forward traffic to a game or something that your hosting... \
Do you have a modem and router? Or is it an all in one device?
If I'm wrong on these assumptions let us know.

Thanks for the reply,
I get connection timed out on canyouseeme.org.
The modem/router is an all in one device.

EDIT: I'm using a static IP according to ipconfig on the command prompt.

Unless you requested a Static Ip directly from your isp (ISP's will charge for a static ip) they would be assigning them via dhcp. Which will come with a lease (typically 24 hours) now these usually won't change unless you do a hard reset on the modem, lose power etc..

First, google what is my ip. This will give you your external ip. (WAN)
If you want to port forwarding for port 7778, do the following.
Open a command prompt on your computer, and type ipconfig (this will give you your internal IP (LAN) )
Now make sure your router is set to take all traffic on port 7778 and send it to your internal IP (LAN).

Then when you go to check with canyouseeme.org you enter your WAN ip and the port.

*Port 7778 is an example port and if you have a dynamic ip then if it changes you have to make sure people trying to connect know the new ip. Usually if you want to seriously host something you pay for a static ip.

Yes it was for a game server, After running the server again and checking canyouseeme.org, the port is online and the server is up and running,
Thanks for the help mate.

Andy Makes a very good point above Joe. If it is something you want running 24/7 it's worth looking into your options with your ISP about getting a Static Ip set. It'll be a little more cost but it'll be worth not going through the hassle of redoing this every time your IP changes.
