Hi There,

I am looking to build a computer that can handle any and everything, from heavy video editing to 4k UHD gaming as well as programming.
I have a budget of up to $8,000 to work with and I need it to be fast so that means it needs to have a PCIe SSD.
What would you guys recommend?
Also would the mac book Pro work for this (I personally don't like the OSX and would rather not use it)?

Solution
Here's a monster that'll handle anything and everything lol!

o-o

CPU X 1: http://www.superbiiz.com/detail.php?name=E52690V3BX ~$2000
Motherboard: http://www.superbiiz.com/detail.php?p=MB-X10DAC& ~$500
RAM X 4: http://www.superbiiz.com/detail.php?p=D42116G4S& ~$800
R9 295X X2 ~$2000

Something like that should probably be your core components at this price point. You can throw in another CPU later to double (or more) the execution resources, though be advised that scaling to multiple CPUs doesn't always work for a single application very well so multi-socket builds are best for machines that are doing true multi-tasking with heavy loads, (like transcoding a video and compiling software, at the same time).

As a programmer, you're going to want ECC memory in the build. "consumer" class memory at a budget like this would be an absolute shame. I can't even believe we are getting suggestions for this junk at this sort of budget.

SO 8K is the budget, This is kinda what I run.
