All saved image files showing black picture.

I've been searching online for a solution but I didn't find a thing. Since today, all pictures saved on my gf's computer can't be seen; when opened, they show a whole black picture instead.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Try to open them with a different software. where these pictures on that computer prior and working, or were they just transferred? What's black, the thumbnail or the actual picture?

If she opens the pictures with paint, she can see them.
Thumbais can be seen some of them yes, some other not.

She shared her screen with me on skype so I can see the problem and thing is really weird. I see some of the thumbails with strange lines that she doesn't seem to see. I add a screenshot if it's useful:
