If anyone else has anything to add, please post as I would like your opinion. So I can get a gtx 660 2gb for about the same as a gtx 560 ti 2gb? I think the gtx 660 2gb would be better but the fact that it's 192-bit bothers me. Does that even matter? Also, I noticed that the gtx 660 is pci express 3.0. The mobo says it's pci express 2.0. Could I use that card on that mobo? and if i went with the gtx 660, would the power supply still be enough? gtx 660 2gb or gtx 560 ti 2gb?

GTX 660 uses far less power than GTX 560/560 Ti and all PCIe 3.0 graphics cards are compatible with PCIe 2.0/2.1/1.0a/1.0/1.1 motherboards and CPUs (where applicable).

The 660 does have a mere 192 bit memory interface, but its very high memory frequency still lets it have decent memory bandwidth for its performance.

Give me a minute, I'll throw together a build for you to compare to the others.

If your wondering if your AM3+ board will support AM3 the answer is, yes. The only difference there as that AM3+ supports higher voltage for memory and can support AMD Bulldozer. It actually is a great jumping off point for upgrading in the future. I'd stick with 1600 ram though.
My preference is Mushkin Enhanced Blackline series. 1600 8-lat or 7-lat is all you need.

Nice case. You could find something less pricier that looks just as sweet and upgrade the ram to 1600 lat-7 with the money you save .

Sure, my mobo supports 1600 but it has (OC) next to it which I believe means that I must mess with the bios to get it to work at that frequency. I had a problem with an ecs a780gm-a v1.1 mobo that said it supported 1066 ddr2 ram, but when I put it in and booted it was only working at 800mhz. Attempted to force it to 1066 in bios, but it just defaulted back to 800 again. Will the ram actually work at 1600mhz without having to do anything other than plug it in?

Thanks for your suggestion blazorthon. That is a solid build, but it must be known that I will only consider Nvidia GPU's. I really should have mentioned that in my first post, sorry. I still need an answer to my question about ram that is just a few posts up. My thanks to everyone that has posted so far.

I think that the ASRock 970 Extreme 3 would be fine with DDR3-1600, but I decided to avoid the issues altogether by suggesting a motherboard that shouldn't need an overclock to support DDR3-1600. Also, if you must have a Nvidia card, then this is my $300 recommendation:

On this page, under the "overview" tab, it says that the mobo features Norton? I know this is gonna sound stupid, but if I use this mobo then would Norton already be installed somehow? and if it is then can I uninstall it and just use what I prefer? I hate Norton and seeing it mentioned on the features of a mobo that I want scares the hell out of me.

It's not going to force you to use Norton anti malware software. Having just looked at that, I'm more worried about whether or not it ships with an FX-compatible BIOS. It has FX-compatible BIOS versions, but I'm not sure if it ships with them or if you have to update it yourself with an older Family 10h CPU (Sempron/Athlon II/ Phenom II on AM3).
