that's a big jump from last year's flagship. 2080ti could run on a 650 watt psu. Could run 2080ti in sli on 1000 watt. No increase from watt to performance considering the 3070 roughly matches the 2080ti in performance and pulls more power.

Keep in mind this is specifically for MSI's top of the line "Suprim X" model, not the base 3090 Ti. Looking at the 3090 non-Ti, the Suprim X is 70W higher than reference (420 vs 350), so if the difference remains similar that suggests ~400W for the reference 3090 Ti.
