ok, so I'm almost done selecting all my parts for my new build, but I'm not certain on my motherboard. I'm porting a lot of parts from a Dell, including CPU (X2 5000+), HDD(something 160 Gb SATA 7200), DVD combo drive, and RAM until I can afford faster (533 MHz, but 2 gigs worth) So let me just give you a list of what I have in mind that's goin in my new rig

AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ (from old rig)
OCZ gamexstream 600W PSU (but still open for suggestions)
2 Gb DDR2 SDRAM 533Mhz (from old rig for now)
Zalman CNPS9500 LED cooling
all going in a NZXT Lexa toaster case

So my situation now comes down to MOBO and GPU

I like ATI cards, and I'm thinking bout holding off for DX10 and using the Radeon 1300 PRO from the old rig for now, but it's possible they may be too rich for my blood and I'll go with a x1950 xt or xtx. Does this make an SLI board useless if I like ATI cards? Because I have a mobo in mind, and it's the
DFI Lanparty Ut NF590 SLI- M2R, but is SLI worthless with ATI cards?

Someone please help me come up with a GPU/MOBO solution!

Thanks

If you want to use 2 nvidia cards in SLI you need a mobo that supports SLI. If you want to use 2 ATI cards in Crossfire you need a mobo that supports it. If you only plan to use a single card, it won't matter which one the board supports (or neither).
