Using Safari on an iMac how do I allow ads on websites I visit, but block pop-up websites that slow my computer to a crawl?

Try Firefox for Mac then add AdblockPlus to block the pop-ups.

I have not used Firefox. I will have to search to discover whether it is harder to use than Safari. Apple has made its OX X iterations harder to use. I have wondered whether that is also true of Firefox.

I doubt even the mighty Apple would block Firefox which is regarded by many as being the most secure browser available at the moment. There is defininitely a version for iMac.
