Question Alloy FPS Keybaord only works if connected while PC is already running

Hello!

My brand new "HyperX Alloy FPS" mechanical keyboard (brown MX switches) is only working when I connect the USB connector while my PC is already running. If the keyboard already is connected when the PC is powered up, the keyboard just seems "dead". Neither the lights are on, nor are any key presses recognized. Only way to get the keyboard working seems to be to unplug and then re-plug the keyboard. But that is very annoying. Also I fear that the USB connectors will wear out unnecessarily. So, how can I solve the problem?

I already tried different USB ports. And, of course, I always connected both USB-connectors of the keyboard. Doesn't make a difference, though.

BTW: Sometimes when the keyboard was "dead" after power on, I noticed that the LED labeled "A" in the upper right corner of the keyboard (not the "A" key!) was shining. But that's all. Keyboard still was not working at all.

System info: Mainboard: ASUS Z-170A, CPU: Intel Core-i7 6700K, GPU: GeForce RTX 2070 Super, PSU: BeQuiet! Pure Power 630W

To answer my own question:

It turns out that turning off the "ErP Ready" option in the BIOS setup solved the problem!

I can only guess that with that option enabled, the mainboard didn't deliver enough power to the keyboard at (right before) power on, resulting in the problem described in first post 🤔

Don't know what the side-effects of turning off "ErP Ready" are (probably slightly higher power usage while the PC is turned off), but it looks like this is the only solution...
