Question Alphabet key not working on some games

When starting up games, the alphabet keys(basically a-z, 1-0) will simply not respond. The strange part is that tab, cap lock, shift, space, all function keys, etc, all will continue to work. They only work if I hold down the Ctrl key then press an alphabet key.
Please help me

If you're working with a Windows OS environment, open up Device Manager and see what the keyboard is showing up as. Are you dealing with a desktop's keyboard or a laptop's keyboard? If the former, can you please parse the make and model of your keyboard? If the latter, please mention the make and model of your laptop and it's SKU. On another note, please take note of the BIOS version.

If this is a desktop, please mention it's specs. Please list them like so:

OS:

include the BIOS version for motherboard and the version of the OS.

The keyboard show up as HID Keyboard Device
