3. is everything compatible with each other, i dont wanna run into freezing at POST, or having BSOD with windows, etc cause i donno how to fix it..
4. When windows 7 comes out. will it be compatible?
5.wuts the best system to use with this? vista or xp?

Thx to everyone who helped me with this.

1. Yes
2. Most of them inc crysis, just maybe not FSX at max because of only 3 core's.
3. Should be, you'll probably want a 790 mobo though even if it costs an extra $80 or so.

I don't think you need a quad, especially if you OC it should handle just about everything. The mobo is good for the price.

i had the impression that psu is very important and i shouldnt go cheap on it.cause if it does then it takes everything with it.

and also. my freind mentioned somethin bout monitors... digital input, wat the hell is that and why does it matter on a monitor.

wut kind of monitor should i get with this rig

What my answers are:
1) Yes you'll be able to do a low-mid overclock with this rig with the current setup.
2) No you will not be able to play crysis at max settings at 2500x1600 settings. Maybe more like 1600x1200. In general though you'll be able to play some of the most demanding games at ther max settings with a screen resolution of 1600x1200 or less. Above this and you might start experince big frame rate drops.
3)Yes everything looks to be comptable. I do question one thing though. Are you sure you want a micro Motherboard and not a full size board?
4)Yes
5)my vote is vista. This will also give you an easier pathway to upgrade to windows 7 when it goes retail.

He's in canada. I think the mATX is fine since he probably won't need the extra slot for xfire...although if you want to add a bunch of other stuff like wireless card and tv tuner then maybe.

The reason why i said a low-mid overclock is because of your ram. Its only 800mhz. which is very sufficent(i'm still going to say stay with this speed). To do a very high end overclock however you want to be in teh 1066mhz+ range. You might want to do a little bit of reading on it. Try googling "memory speed and overclock"

This is a good article to first read about screen resolution:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Display_resolution

After you have read that article this might make some more sense. Since there are more pixels that means your graphics card has to do more work rendering each frame. This in return causes a heavier load for your graphics card to keep up with.

LOL, you had already recommended the same board, but I didn't know yet. :)

@OP: try www.memoryexpress.com and www.ncix.com too, see if you can get better prices there.

so is it worth it to get better ram? i just dont wanna be my pc to be REALLY out of date in like 6yrs...

seems that mobo is superior then the micro currently. more slots, ports etc...

edit: someone on the review said that the hyper transport speed on that mobo is 2000mh vs 2600 on the other am2 board... i tried to look at wikipedia but i couldnt understand wut the hell it was talkin about...

also, i thought the 790GX board are superior?

can someone explain that in plain english plz?

AEYRFHAOEF(PAEOHT#AEORHP@HRE@PIUGE~!~~~~~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH

with the upgraded parts(mobo+ psu)

it comes out to be $1,158.84

shipping and handling cost almost $200 bucks!!!! WTF?!

Ouch...

I'm guessing shipping the case is very expensive, since it's big and heavy. Maybe you can buy a case locally and save some cash.

NCIX used to have a system where you pay $150 and get some membership that included free shipping and some extra insurance. See if they still have it. They match prices too AFAIK.

From looking at the build in the first post still, I'd say def go up a step in your mobo (just to about a $120 one), spend a few extra dollars for an Phenom 2 X4 Black Edition (only about $20-30 more), and spend an extra $20-30 on a Sapphire 4850 X2 2GB. I'd say you'd have a pretty sweet system with those changs.

where do u see a phenom 2 x4 for $30 more?

and where is that sapphire 2g for $30 more?

plz point it to me.

i am in canada.

the cheapest phenom II 940 was on newegg.ca

which was $276, which doesnt include a cooling unit. with a coolin unit it be about 320

rite now i have a trip core 720 + coolin unit for 200....
