Hi, I need your help. I want to get a PC for gaming purpose. I have a budget of around 1000 US$, I only need the tower, I have a monitor. I need you guys to set me up with the best Gaming PC Tower for that price. Thx alot for any Help whatsoever. Oh and id' like a DVD Burner has drive if they're not too expensive, I don't want scrap tought.

its their 06 jan pc buyers guide, go for everything budget then you got a gaming pc and make sure that it is the amd system the intel system would need to be high end in order to beat the amd budget one (provided that the vid card are the same)

I dont really see why they are sticking to the 128meg 6600gt, or the 700 from ati. Personally when, I would spend the extra money to get one of the x800gto cards, like this one from HIS
I would also recommend the Asus A8R-MVP. It's a great platform, will OC very well at need, and crossfire looks like a smarter deal than SLI.

and again i say crossfire chipset seems to new, as that with any new hardware there must be some bugs that need to be fixed... the NF3 and 4 were crappy, and that the crossfire's intial south bridge sucked so much that most mobo have uli south bridge at that moment, the new crossfire south bridge seems nice but............. only time will tell

Well holy, some you win, and some you loose. Read the anandtech review of the A8R-MVP. BTW, the crossfire chipset has been around for a while now. The bugs seem to be all gone, with the new uli south bridge.

and yes crossfire have been around for sometime now and seems stable but again this is done with the help of Uli south bridge and with the nvidia buy out of uli it dosent seem bright for crossfire unless they get their own south bridge up or gasp use VIA's solution 8O !

I built a system for a friend who 'Already had a monitor'. In his case it turned out to be a piece of crap 15" CRT with a max res of 800x600. If this is the case with you, I'd strongly suggest getting something better, or you're missing out on what all that lurvely hardware can show you

Just a thought.

Heres a good $850 system. Except i would replace the 3500+ with a 3700+ that has double the L2 cache for only $20 more. And/Or swap the 6800 gt with a 7800 gt. You could even up it to 2 gigs of Corsair XMS for about $200...

Thats not the system I built. Mine cost me about $1500, without a sound card, monitor, speakers, and keyboard. Although i almost did a system with every thing i got, but with a A64 4000+ instead of the x2 4400. It wouldve been about $1300.
