Right now, from what I am seeing, the Z97-pro is $160 while the Extreme4 is $125.

If you have the budget, the Asus is the better board, but the extreme4 is a great motherboard. That price doesn't reflect it's quality, it is currently 15% off on sale. I am using the extreme4 in my system right now and love it.
