Is there a way to Alt-Tab out of the game in the windows or linux version? I
only have the demo, and like to know if its possilble. Maybe with some
additional tools?

Thx

Alt-Enter bumps it into a window.

Whenever I play, I have to disable my 2nd monitor, because it will allow
me to click outside of Unreal even in fullscreen mode, and dumps me to
the taskbar. Very annoying in a firefight!

As Toby said, and yes, Alt-Tab will also get you out of the game. At
least it does under Windows 2000. Can't speak for Linux.

Have you tried... Alt-Tab? 😉

Seriously, it works in the retail version (windows) and isn't
intrusive. Some games I know will let you do this but will almost
surely hang up when trying to restore back to fullscreen.

In Linux, alt-tabbing out of it sort of requires you to ALT-Enter first to
get it windowed then CTRL G to tell the game to ungrab the mouse and once
that is done, you can then use other apps while the game is still open in
that window. Then when you switch back, you can hit CTRL G to re-grab the
mouse cursor (prevent it from going outside the window) or ALT-Enter again
to make the game full screen.

I have also been pleasantly surprised at how well it works. A good
example of that is when clicking on URL's in the Community tab. You
must be on the latest patch for that to work, but it's seamless... the
game windows and minimizes and your browser opens up. Sweet.
