Alternates for ASUS GTX760 [Urgent]

Urgent question as I really need to make this order soon:

I had chosen all the parts for a PC upgrade including an ASUS GTX760. While looking for the best price however a reviewer on NewEgg said theirs caught fire which is kind of freaking me out.

Can someone suggest an alternate of similar power and price (£200/$300) or should I consider a fire a low possibility event?

It needs to be the same size due to case limitations

A better GPU than the gtx 760 at the same price is the r9 280. It performs better the gtx 760 at the same price (mayber lower?).

UK or USA mate - nothing wrong with the 760 though really
A r9 280 would be a viable alternative tbh - 10-25% more performance & generally cheaper

If it is more than 22cm I need to removed one of the hard drives. if it is longer than 30cm I need to cut out part of the bay

All 280's are between 260-280mm (the GB windforce is 300mm)

That must have been a mitx version of the 760 if it was under 22cm?

The MSI card is 26.8 cm long, so it will fit. Check ur case if it has 27 cm of clearance

^ 10% weaker than a 760,280 is 10% stronger
The 270x is a decent little gaming card but for £17 extra for the MSI 280 you'd be getting a fair performance boost
