Using LatencyMon it tells me my system is unsuitable for real time audio, which results in pops and clicks etc.

It says nvlddmkm was the problem. so i disabled the GTX in device manager, left it overnight and for once LatencyMon says the system was able to run real time audio with no problems.

So is there an alternative for the GTX drivers? this nvlddmkm I pressume?

Thanks.

There aren't suitable alternative drivers. I also doubt it's the video card.

I had the same issue and NVidia did show up, but so did Intel's network chips.

I never could fix the problem, but when I upgrade from W8.1 to W10 it just went away.

It's possible you have NVidia driver issues though. Not sure why. You could try THIS:

1) DDU http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html then

2) Reinstall latest NVidia drivers

It may be some underlying Windows issue that makes NVidia drivers have a too-high latency, but other than reinstalling Windows I don't know what else to do (after DDU).

Update:

After you do DDU, and when you START the NVidia reinstall try THIS:

a) select "custom" and "clean"
b) select ONLY the base driver (do not install HDMI audio, Geforce Experience or anything else that is not necessary)

That may or may not help. Good luck.

Thanks for the replies. I am using a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 audio interface for my sound.

I am on Windows 7, so maybe upgrading to 10 finally may help, but I am going to try the DDU thing first though... I always download/install my GTX 970 drivers from the Nvidia updater thing in the notification area bit, so they should be correct.

I did disable my network card and ethernet in device manager... it wasn't until I also disabled the GTX that overnight LatencyMon gave me the all clear.
