Hello,
This is my second 970. I got the first one doa. The second fried after my sister accidentally unplugged my pc while it was on. 2 failed mobos make me want to try a different one. I may have just gotten unlucky so I am not totally against getting another one. As for finding a new one, I am having trouble because all of the good ones seem to have a blue or yellow theme. I want red or at least all black. It is for AM3+

Do you guys have any suggestions?

BTW pc turns on no post. Everything spins and lights up but still no post. That should be mobo right?

Asus motherboards, is what I recommend to you.

Iv`e had about 6 Asus boards and each one has been rock solid with no problems at all.
AM2 + to AM3 +.

They tend to come with lots of bios features and good settings for overclocking, and voltage tweaks for the cpu, memory.
With good bios upgrade and cpu support.
Good quality electronic components used on there motherboards also.
No cheap caps and stuff if you buy one in the £90 plus range.
And the boards are well laid out also in respect to the position of pci-e card slots, ect.
Very reliable boards.
Only ever had one MSI, Micro Star International motherboard and it was rubbish.

To be fair it isn't that bad a motherboard that one, It's quite good actually so that's quite unlucky if it got killed twice.

Anyways, the best alternative to a black/red motherboard is imo simply an all black motherboard like this:

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 R5 ATX AM3+ Motherboard ($119.50 @ B&H)
Total: $119.50

It's a solid 990FX mobo aswell. Doesn't need extra fans on the mobo to be OC'd past 4.5 Ghz.

Do you think its worth giving it another try? the MSI I mean. Im not against it. I really love the look and while it worked, it worked great. DOA happens to everyone. Fried from disconnecting it once though seems pretty weak. Function wise there are a ton that match but dammit they just dont look as good.
