Alternatives to enhance WiFi if ethernet port not available

I currently live on a campus dorm where they provide free WiFi, but it is usually very slow. I would try to resolve the problem with my router, but there are no ethernet ports available. Is there such thing as a wifi enhancer device or anything that I can do with the network? I mainly use it to play Xbox online or my laptop. I would really appreciate the help.

You can use a repeater or an extender to boost signal. You have to "pair" it with router to use it. Fairly simple and inexpensive.

I will talk to the Techs in the university and look into how can I connect the internet to the extender since I do not have knowledge of where the main router is located in the dorm complex. Thank you very much!
