I recently upgraded to a 3080 gigabyte Gaming OC. I needed more power so I got the Antec 1000 HCG. I was on an APC Back-850 which is rated for 450 watts. When I loaded up God of war it started a constant beeping sound. I shut down the game right away. I ordered a new one that is not under powered and it will be here soon. My question is.. Is it possible that the under powered session could have caused damage to my system? I paid a lot for this video card. Or am I being paranoid? BTW the beep came from the APC back-850.

That just an indication that the UPS is overloaded. You PC isn't affected since that UPS still delivered the clean power as it should. Your UPS breaker should trip before anything bad happens on the connected...
Very unlikely , more likely to damage the APC than the system.

I'd imagine that beeping was a warning that you were overloading or close to overloading it.

The 3080 is a 350w gpu with peaks in excess of 400w so not too much of a surprise at all.

Thank you. I assumed as much. I was monitoring the watts on the gpu when it happened and this particular time it bumped up to about 340watts.
