[SOLVED] Am I just unlucky or is there something else wrong with my PC? One ram from two different kit died.

I originally built my pc 2 years ago with 2x4 2600mhz ram kit and just last year, one of the ram stopped working (I did all the tests necessary to make sure that it is actually the ram that died and not the RAM slot as I tried the working one on both slots) and so I decided to buy a new kit 2x8 3200mhz which I'm sure is compatible with my motherboard. It worked fine for a month and then suddenly I was in the exact same situation as I was before with the first set of ram that I had.

If two RAM modules have been killed by the same slot, do you ever think that there might have been some sort of voltage surge on that slot, destroying your RAM?
