I have the 3.2 prescott
my question is is it a little too risky to run it at 1.55 or 1.6 volts
idle 38 load 48
also if i would be running at this voltage how long till i gotta start digging a grave?
Thanks

those temps are at that voltage? Those temps looks very good. Just keep a close eye on the temps as you O/C further. Upping the voltage isn't too dangerous under 1.8 or so, so you have nothing to worry about. How long before your CPU will die from O/Cing? Let's just say if you upgrade about every 8-12 months you have nothing to worry about.

No more than 1.6v for Scottie. Your temps are fine.

Yes I was thinking of AMD chips. Sorry about that. I thought the 1.8V was for Intel as well. My bad.

don´t go higher than v1.55, and with proper cooling you should hit 240fsb on air and 250fsb on water/vapo

You'll probably get your best OC somewhere between 1.50v and 1.55v. NEVER go over 1.60v. My board gives 1.56v at the 1.60v setting, so I MIGHT choose that, depending on what's needed to reach max OC. But if your board is more accurate, 1.55v would be a far better option.

I have an assus p4c800-e and i'm using a reserator 1
I would idealy like to have it running at 4.0 or maybe 4.2
i was never able to boot up anywhere over 1.6 because of that stupid voltage regulator on my board
I'm not sure if its accurate
So if i run it at that speed do you think its possible to be able to keep it for 1 year and then 3 years running at stock (after i build someone a computer)
Thanks for all the reply's
i just got one more quick question
If i have 1 error in memtest 86 after like an hour Do i gotta keep tweaking?

I'd go 1.55v with the P4C800-E. The VRM is fairly stable at settings of 1.60v and below.

I don't think a reserator will handle that much heat...a Scotty at 4.0+, 1.55V can toast ANY air cooling. Sure, you have watercooling, but its performance is only soso (aircooling-ish at best), it's really just meant to be a silent form of cooling (though the pump does make some noise), not performance cooling.

1 error is acceptable, any more than 3-5 and I'd say to play with your RAM settings...if it's way more than that, get an RMA.

Maxtor disgraces the six letters that make Matrox.

Yea thats what i thought before i got it but
1) my temperatures at 4.0 are 38-40 idle 48 load
2)The pump is dead silent you have to concentrate to hear it when your ear is right on the reserator
The cooling is so so when you have it hooked up to the videocard but when it just hooked up the the cpu the temperatures are pretty impressive
yea so i should be ok with 1 error i guess
thanks
