Dear friends,

I have a Patriot viper ram white rgb, 2x8 gb 2666 mhz, just installed it on my gigabyte b450 ds3h, and when I Opened bios my ram frequency was stock at 2133 mhz, I changed the settings (there was this option and another one) and I've checked that it's running around 2680 mhz and 1.2 v approximately, as it's above 2666mhz I just don't want it to breakdown for overclocking.

Is this the stock frequency of 2666 mhz or is it overclocked ? What should I do ? Are there any risk for my ram memory or my setup ? Sorry if questions are silly but I just don't want to mess with my system and break everything down and I'm not an experienced user.

Thanks for all the help

From what I can read of your post, you haven't overclocked - assuming you have installed two identical ram sticks.

I have not experienced ram sticks get damaged because of OC. What is more likely to kill ram sticks and other pcb cards is damage caused by esd shock - i.e. static electrisity.

If you want to be absolutely sure your ram is good, I suggest you use Memtest to check the ram.

Dear friend,

I recently bought them (about one month), so it's not damaged, what I'm afraid of is that this frequency I manually settled could eventually damage it, get what I mean ?

I bought them together so they are pair for sure, just wanted to now about this frequency
