Hello guys, i've been having this monitor for quite a while and i have enabled resolution scaling for my RX 5700 XT GPU, i can use the following resolutions (from 2560x1440):

  • 3200x1800
  • 3840x2160
  • 5120x2880
The question is, whenever i use the 3840x2160 resolution, i don't seem to notice a big improvement in visuals from 2560x1440, but the performance dip is really huge. Am i really seeing "4k" or it's just the performance dipping down because of higher resolution?

PC Specs:

  • Motherboard: ASUS ROG Strix Gaming B550-F
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 3900X (4.2GHz @ 1.3V)
  • CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i RGB Platinum
  • RAM: Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB 2x16 3200mhz
  • Case: Corsair 465X
  • PSU: Corsair RM750 80+ Gold
  • GPU: Sapphire Pulse RX 5700 XT 8GB GDDR6
  • Monitor: Asus TUF Gaming VG27WQ 27" LED Wide QuadHD 165Hz HDR FreeSync Premium Curved
  • SSD M.2: PNY CS2130 1TB SSD M.2 NVMe PCIe Gen3 x4
  • SSD: Samsung 860 QVO SSD 1TB SATA 3 V-NAND QLC
  • HDD 1 & 2: Seagate Barracuda 2TB
  • Keyboard: Corsair K68 RGB
  • Mouse: Corsair M65 Elite RGB
  • MousePad: Razer Goliathus Extended Chroma
Thank you guys in advance

you are not seeing 4k because the monitor is not 4k.
Then why does that AMD technology allow me to upscale it to 4k? It wouldn't make any sense to let me do that if i don't gain any kind of visual impact.
EDIT: In my old TV that i used to play it would only allow me to upscale it one resolution above 1920x1080 but it wasn't 2560x1440, so i guess it should do something at least
