This is very frustrating... So..

Very simple. Over the past few years i've wanted to upgrade my cpus on my Z390, B360, B365 motherboards, preferably with Xeon. Dont ask why. It doesnt matter

Also simple. PC Partpicker shows MANY MANY Z390, B360, B365 motherboards that support the Xeon Coffee lake Xeon E-2236!!!!

Yet folks say these aren't compatible.

Am i taking crazy pills? Couldn't i just buy a Xeon E-2236 and put in one of the below supported boards? What am i missing?

Will a Xeon E-2236 work in one of these below motherboards like it says, or not??????? if not, then why does it say they support it?

Intel says you need a C246 motherboard -- https://ark.intel.com/content/www/u...xeon-e-2236-processor-12m-cache-3-40-ghz.html
The Asus ROG motherboard (a top-end board) shows NO Xeon compatibility -- https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/ROG-STRIX-Z390-E-GAMING/HelpDesk_CPU/
I would NOT believe PC Partpicker on this one. ALWAYS check the manufacturer's website BEFORE purchase to verify compatibility.

If you not sure if they are supported or no, just refer to manufacturer site, and check the CPU support list. That's the best way to make sure.
And if they said it's supported when the CPU is not in the CPU support list, make sure to them if the BIOS is already modded or not.
