AM2 Only Memory

I'm buying more RAM for my system at work and I found a good deal on some, however they claim the RAM is for AM2 Chipsets only. I have an Intel CPU.

What exactly makes it AM2 only? Why wouldn't it work with an Intel chip?

I've never heard of AM2 specific memory. As long as the RAM is the right speed and type it should work in most motherboards. What kind of processor do you have?

It's an Intel Celeron D 336.

However, it says it'll only work on AM2 and AM2+ mobo's. And I don't see the difference.

I don't see a reason that RAM shouldn't work with your processor. The only thing i can see is that the RAM is labeled as PC2 4300 and the RAM I've seen is labeled PC2 4200.
