AM3-b to AM3+ is there any way to make this work

i have a hp angelica rev 1.2 motherboard witch is am3-b socket and a fx-4200 AM3+ cpu
is there any way i can make these work together it fits and boots up but after instaling windows it shuts its self down can anyone help?

I suspect they are the same 'black socket' motherboards, and support AM3+ CPUs, including the 125w varieties.

Your issues may be related to your copy of Windows, or possibly the OEM BIOS (which I simply doubt if your computer POSTs with the CPU installed).

im running windows 8.1 and have no problem with it on my hp p6732f with a Athlon II X3 so must be a bios problem witch i no nothing about need help i would really like to get this board and cpu working ?

HP lists no FX-x2xx or FX-x3xx support for that mobo ... only FX-x1xx (or, AM3) CPUs.

It's odd that it POSTs but will not boot into Windows --- regretfully, that's how it goes with OEM builds from time to time ...

That is possible. Why are you going with a fx 4200? I would recommend going with a phenom ii x4 965 be. It is better than the fx 4200 and probably costs less as well.

I really dont think the fx 4200 should have the problem you are having because the architecture is the same as the fx 4100/4130/4170, but you never know.
