AM3+ cpu to AM3 socket ???

Solution
The 2 are not backwards compatible. You can use AM3 CPU in AM3+ socket, not the other way around. You need an AM3+ motherboard. I would recommend something like the Asrock 970 extreme3 for $75 unless you're a micro ATX, at which point something from Asus would be a good solution.

Umm... What if i punch out the blocked pin on my am3 board. Then can i plug in an fx chip? I mean of course i can put it in but will it work? or does that one pin happen to be critical to it working correctly

Truthfully I wouldn't know what the extra pin does. But by drilling into that CPU socket more than likely your going to short the motherboard out that you have that all ready works, maybe kill the CPU, or both. In other words if it is not broken why mess with it.
If you all ready have the FX 4130 a decent 970 board and 8 GB of DDR3 ram will only put you back around $150.

Every pins are equally important for Microprocessor's bus, I/O, power, clock, ground, set, reset other numerous interfacing related functions. They would not have been there if they were not needed. 😀

Actually there are few redundant ground pins of which at least one could be missing. AM3 sockets have some holes closed intentionally so AM2 processors would not fit but AM3 processors fit and work in AM2+ sockets.
Sometimes it pays to check is MB and processor may be compatible. For instance, Gigabyte ga-890fxa-UD5 is very well made MB, very rich with features and with another BIOS version can use FX chips wit success.
