A friend of mine got a new case that couldn't fit his Corsair H60, so he gave it to me to see if it works better than my Hyper N520.
But there are some problems. He didn't have the AM3 bracket and I can't find one (Corsair doesn't ship it to Canada). Right now, I've got it zap-strapped to the backplate pretty tight. The entire surface is making contact, using a good amount of Arctic Silver thermal paste, etc. except it idles at 65C. Not cool. The N520 idled at 12C (I have a cold room). I can't listen to music or it overheats and shuts down automatically. Chrome is barely light enough to work.
Will this work?
I have an MSI 970A-G43 and an FX-8350 (usually OC'd but stock because of the heat issues presented here).
