Am3+ pcie 3.0

so i had noticed a line of mobo's for sale on newegg that were boasting the new 3.0 pci config

i would like to know, when will we be able to purchase amd am3+ mobo's with sli capability that use pci 3.0?

as much as i want to update my rig i need data to make a wise decision b4 i can invest.
as i am an amd fan boy, im once again stuck behind their waiting game
which is starting to SERIOUSLY disappoint

I would search your favorite manufacturer's websites, such as asus and gigabyte. I've emailed them before about upcoming releases, but they often won't give out info. When new stuff is in the pipeline, they'll start releasing press info on their webpage. The other option is to write amd or nvidia and see if their new chipsets will have sli or crossfire.

Won't happen for a longtime. I research this before and the best case is AFTER the AM3+/Zambezi. Yes, the current (new) AMD server CPU's support PCIe 3.0.

However, PCIe 3.0 for 'GPU' only lanes is laughable, the current GPU's (best of the best) barely can saturate the x8 PCIe 2.x -- so x16 PCIe 3.x is laughable -- MANY MANY YEARS away.

What needs improvement, which is in the works, SATA 6 Gbps. Also, a 'PCIe 3.0 Clean' MOBO: Chipset's, ALL pathways, ... last GPU will help alleviate 'bandwidth sharing bottlenecks.'

Bottom-Line, there's NOTHING to be Disappointed about for years! You're crying over Snake Oil!

referance and details of where your data is being obtained would be awsem

especialy as we are going to the next gen of video cards
you think they will peak perform on 2.0x16?

Further, it's IMPOSSIBLE to use 6-GPU-cores!!! The limit is (4) four total cores. In other words 3-WAY SLI of a GTX590 or any 3-WAY 2-core GPU doesn't AND won't work!

Example - the differences especially in low AA e.g. 0xAA~4xAA are ALL about the CPU's used:

It's true that PCIe 3.0 is not needed at this point because you can't even saturate PCIe 2.0 X16/X16 in SLI/Crossfire. PCIe 3.0 is a marketing ploy to try to get you to buy a specific brand of mobo. There is no performance advantage to it at this time nor likely in the next few years.

The main use for PCIe 3.0 is not bandwidth for graphics, but the for bandwidth required when the GPU is used as a computing workhorse; using it so can easily saturate a PCIe 3.0 bus just for communications between the GPU and CPU.
