Which cooler? Some manufacturers offered new mounting brackets although I think a lot of them are no longer available new.

If it is the stock cooler, with the clips, it will work the same. Aftermarket coolers that use the stock clip system, will also work, without a special bracket. It depends on what cooler we are talking about here.

CoolerMaster makes adapter brackets to fit many of their AM2 and AM3 'screw mount' coolers. The specific one you need depends on the cooler. The more popular ones are widely available: you can pick up one for the Hyper 212 line (for instance) at Microcenter.

If you can link a picture of your cooler someone will help identify it.

As previously noted, if the cooler has a clip-mount option that fits any AM3 it will fit any AM4 clip mount.
