AM3 with a AM3+ cpu

Will An AM3+ CPU work in a AM3 motherboard? Will I get the full benefits of the AM3+ CPU?

if its what they called ''black socket'' am3 it may if theres a bios update to cover the am3+ chips .. and then it would only for the first bulldozer ones [opinion]

ASRock M3A770DE AM3 AMD 770 ATX AMD Motherboard. I am having temp issues. At idle it is 45c but when I play Cities: Skylines and all tree cores are hitting 100% I get to 70c real fast. No other game just this one.

all ways look here on the boards support as you see theres no support for any am3+.. even if the socket will accept the am3+ chip theres still no bios support for it

Junkeymonkey - no-ones incorrect apart from yourself - the 'black socket' as GB called it is still classed as an am3+ motherboard - it was just manufactured a few months before the fx chips became available to the public!
