AM3 Work With AM3+?

Okay, I have purchased an AMD Athlon II X4 640 on eBay, will it work with an AM3+ mother board. Here are the components

It should work, however you may need to update the bios before using the Athlon chip.

You should not need to update the BIOS for a legacy chip.
