Thank you for reading.

I cannot afford to move up to AM5 but have noticed i need some upgrades.

I currently have an RTX 2060, 32gb ram and Ryzen 5 2600.

I normally play and edit on photoshop/ClipStudio
  • Escape from tarkov
  • League of Legends
  • Overwatch
I was planning on upgrading to Ryzen 7 5800x. Is this a good thing to do? Please do share your thoughts and any recommendations!

I would recommend you to get the 5800x3d if you have the cooling and the budget. The performace in tarkov is awesome. I personally play tarkov with that cpu and i felt the performance boost specially in this game from my previous cpu (R7 3700X).
I know in some productive scenarios the 5800x is better, but only for the boost in some games i would go with the 5800x3d

It's price is almost double compared to 5800x, If we thinkg perofrmance/price, would you for for 5600 or 5800x? I see a small difference of 3-5%

Oh okey, mb, i wasnt concern about your limit on budget. The difference is small but in tarkov in some scenarios the improvement is more than 5-8% compared to the 5800X.
Best price/performance would be the 5700x if its available where you live as Why_Me indicates you. The 5800x is more future proof than the 5600x in case you cant get the 5700x.

The 5600x would be a nice upgrade. If you can get it though, the 5700x might be better than the 5800x for the fact that the 5700x should give 90 of the performance of the 5800x but should run cooler. On a budget I’d select the 5600/5600x. But if you can get a good deal, the 5700x would be a great value.

If you mainly use your PC for gaming then the R5 5600 is a really good CPU for it's price point, it also stay's very cool but I think the 5700 is also a 65watt CPU as well so that should stay very cool
Not sure if it's better for gaming over the 5600 you would have to pull some benchmarks from online to compare, fairly sure the 5600 would be your price to performance sweet spot upgrade for gaming.

personally I would choose the 5800x for what you use your PC for, if it is an option but if budget is the main factor then the 5600 all day.

I wouldn't recommend the R7-5800X because the R7-5700X is almost exactly the same while costing less and using less electricity. If there's a 5800 in the number, it should only be an R7-5800X3D.
