Hey all,

I still need to purchase an am5 mobo but with the recent problems with mobo's not following or been given the correct guidlines and causing cpus to die should i still purchase a mobo or would you reccomend waiting? (just scared\worried)

Even if these motherboards are a problem, I don't think it's a case where the CPU will pop the moment you turn on the PC. So you can at least perform a UEFI update on it if said update has the AGESA fixes before you install the OS.

BIOS updates are coming fast and you from what I've read you can pretty easily sidestep any potential problem in the meantime by simply not enabling EXPO.

Even if you do enable EXPO it's not a matter of sudden death. So you could check with a monitoring app to see of your motherboard is one with out of control Vsoc, then disable it until the BIOS update drops or return it to exchange for another brand that doesn't do it. You have options and you are in control of the outcome.

In the end, this will simply be remembered as an Intel fanboy moment so don't get dragged down by the hysteria.

are you sure that asus doesnt overvolt intel cpus aswell? tho intel allows 1.7volts which is insane
Are you sure that they do? Why perpetuate uncertainties. I do know they (motherboard mfr's) are aggressively addressing the issues for their AM5 boards with many of them having already popped out BIOS updates and that it seems to be related to use of EXPO for overclocking.
