@WR2: Yes, it is going to be a gaming PC.... Monitor: 19 in. 1440x900..
why? is the GPU bad? it isn't gonna bottleneck the CPU, is it?

@ohiou: around $ 800... since I'm not a big gamer!! =)

That's true, I was actually thinking about x4 965 BE, but no future proof though... 4 cores are awesome for gaming right now, but maybe after a year or 2 most of the games might require more than 4 cores...

Do you think it's better to pick x4 965BE over 1075T or 1055T for better gaming and performance????

I really have no problem with either of the X6 CPUs.
But I do think you'll get better gaming performance with a better video card.
If that means going with a x4 955/965 so you can get a better GPU you'll come out ahead in gaming performance.

Notice the BF:BC2 recommended graphics cards for DX10: GTX 260/HD 4870? Both those cards are slightly more powerful than the HD 5770 you plan to get.

I'll be honest, last guy I helped with a build wanted Sandy Bridge, but had a smaller budget. Long story short, talked him into a X6 1090t and upgraded the video card to a GTX 570. He LOVES it. My point is, I think you would be wise to step down to another processor and go to a better card. Also, do you have a microcenter nearby? If so, check them out, a lot of times they run deals where you buy an AMD chip, get a free board, or get like 40 off any board when you buy an AMD chip. So that means you may be able to get a processor you want and still grab a 460 or similar card.

MB => Consider a motherboard with an 800 series chipset. The ASRock 870 Extreme3 (USB 3.0, SATA 6) is a great board at a good price point.

CPU => The best bang for the buck is the Phenom X4 955 BE. Bump the multiplier in the BIOS to the 965 / 970 speeds at a minimum. CM Hyper 212+ CPU cooler to keep things in check...
