AMD 3000+ sempron lol need OC for last year

Hey all,
So i've had my amd for too many years now, and it's starting to get bad.
I'd like to OC it to a decent amount so it can run wow w/out too much lag. and i don't want it overheating. so manybe a slight difference and explain how i OC if i can. ALso i'd like to update my bios, not sure how to do that either.
Here are my specs:
450W PS
ATI 1950 GT Graphics card 512mb
Chaintech mk8t890 Mobo *nothing but problems since the day i got it*
1gig of ddr1 ram, i think pc 3200
120 gig western digital

You probably won't need to update your BIOS, if your computer isn't a OEM computer most likely it'll be able to overclock through your BIOS.

i can get into bios fine and then go to the max setting but that only brings it to 1.9 ghz or w/e and once i load windows how do i know it is actually at that setting/speed?
