Hello All,

I am looking for some insight on parts before I make the move on purchasing.

Currently, I am running a 3570K system with 1080ti's in SLI for personal gaming and daily task, but it is insanely bottlenecked at the CPU, because I have to lower graphics quality to prevent CPU loads from hitting 100% in nearly every game ever since going to the 1080ti. I have been running this route for a while patiently waiting for the release of Zen 2 Ryzen before dropping money on a new system I hope to run for the next 5-7 years again as I did on this 3570k.

After seeing some of the reviews it appears the AMD 3700x is producing the same fps in gaming as the 3900x, but just barely behind the Intel 9900K by less than 5% margin, but over $100 cheaper. I was thinking of going the 3900/3950x route and just run streaming and gaming off the same PC, but the few reviews i saw when they did a streaming test, there was no difference in FPS and dropped frames between the 3700x and 3900x, so because of this i am thinking of going the route of a dual system rig and recycle my old 3570k as the streaming pc and go with the cheaper cpu for gaming...

Currently, I have tried to game on my current rig, but just unplayable when attempting to stream anything above 720p@30fps due to the bottlenecking of the 3570k.

What is your opinions on this? I understand the 3900x is destroying everyone on blender, cinibench and such... but I don't do anything that favors that right now.. i have wanted to get into streaming, just couldn't with my rig and wanted to wait on zen 2 before upgrading my pc.

3700X is way better for streaming and gaming at the same time. The hit on game performance and also dropped frames when doing both on the same PC is much less with the 3700X so u got some wrong advice from that person.

Also as SLI sucks why dont u sell your two 1080 Tis now u still can get a good price for them and buy a 2080 Ti?? Or sell at least on of them and buy the 3950X when it comes out.

Hey dude,

I am running a 2700 with rtx 2060 and streaming and gaming no problem. 60fps@720p with medium cpu usage preset. No issues whatsoever.

I was also looking at initially getting the 3900x but decided on the 3700x as it's already much better than what I have atm, benchmarks are pretty damn good and i'll save some money that can go towards something else. yeah I miss out on 4 cores but tbh, it's going to be a long while before your going to be using 12 cores for sure. I reckon the 3700x will handle what I do perfectly well and may even be able to drop the cpu usage to low or up the resolution to 1080@60fps.

so for me 3700x whilst streaming and gaming from the same machine. Probably will be dropping this 2060 and picking up a 5700xt whilst i'm at it.

My 2 cents ;)

Someone mentioned I should go a different route and get the Intel 9700K, which is $130 cheaper and spend that $130 on new itx motherboard and sfx psu for my old 3570k, giving me 12 cores of CPU power.... lol for the same price as the 9900K and get a better streaming performance...
