My suggestion... wait for 3rd gen AMD. If you can't wait, buy 2nd gen. Look at this web and see 3rd gen questionable details. https://www.tomshardware.com/news/amd-ryzen-3000-everything-we-know,38233.html
this is not official information about prices and specs.
And the main question. What you will do with your pc? Gaming,editing....?
Look on the used market, you can buy like a prebuilt i7 2600 mini tower for like $150 and just change out the power supply (if the GPU requires a power connector) and slot in your graphics card. Old as the i7 2600 is, it will run rings around that a8-5500.I play games, I used to play on consoles and bought my first PC on 2013 and never upgraded it at all only the GPU but, now I want to buy a new one, so I was thinking to buy it now but don't know what cpu would be ok, I had an old a8-5500 quad core, I am looking something much better and not too expensive, I have $1100.00 for now.
I have heard that six cores cpus or higher will be better for the future games but I don't know.
for this price you can buy this PC:
GeForce RTX 2060 6GB
$349.99
Intel Core i5 9600K Processor
$269.89
GIGABYTE Z390 UD Gaming Motherboard
$118.00
Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB DDR4 RAM 3000
$114.99
EVGA 600 BR 80+ Bronze Power Supply
$44.99
Seagate BarraCuda 1TB Hard Drive
$49.60
CORSAIR CARBIDE SPEC-06 Mid-Tower Gaming Case
$79.99
Intel SSD 545s Series
$40.13
