Amd 4300 bottleneck 7950 crossfire

Now my friend is playing on 2560x1440. and he wants to be able to ultra games like battlefield 3,starcraft 2,crysis 2 now he cant afford to go the intel route since its about 200dollars more here in australia and hes on a budget for 2560x1440 so its either

Core i5 3570k+single 7970

amd 4300+crossfire 7950s

would the amd 4300 bottleneck the 7950s? and what if you got the 4300 to about 4.6ghz would it still be bad?

Well, I would Prefer getting the couple of GPU, if your friend is gaming at that resolution, the CPU bottleck wont be that much. Actually for such resolution, theres less stress on CPU and more GPU which leads to get a better performing graphics solution, anyway he would also be able to upgrade to FX 8350 later, and solve any bottlenecking issues...

Well he could spend 15 bucks more and go for the 6300 would that help?

the 6300 would help but i fear than unless he either goes 8320/50 or i5 he will bottleneck the 7950's couldn't your friend get a i5+7950 and get another 7950 later

8320 hm... Well the 4300 is $135 6300 $149 8320 $189 ill have a chat with him and try convince him for the 8320 it's still cheaper than the i5

AT that resolution there is a bigger benefit from the two GPU's.

With that OC will be comparable as an I5 2500k at 4.0ghz or I5 3570k at 3.8Ghz, which is plenty for todays gaming, for benchies there will be a severe bottlenecking but for gaming there wont be diferences, actually some games uses FX cores effectively as Battlefield 3 multiplayer, that can even run 8 cores pretty well, there wold be even less diference, actually an 8 core AMD cpu will behave better than I5 on new aftermath patch when a lot of things are going on those full 64 servers...

And im telling as my own experience, my I5 runs completly fine anything and even my GPU is too weak to make my processor shine, but i tested it with an FX8350 of a friend BF3 multiplayer and the diference is null, and sometimes BF3 favors those 8 core processor, of course at high locks... His FX 8350 is clocked at 4.6ghz with a custom set up of WC...

Thanks man that helps a ton ill tell him to go to the 6300 over the 4300. With the extra money he will get him self a razor combo for $100 the build will cost him $1800 with a 2560x1400 in the price and the tower an the keyboard and mouse that's pretty decent imo

Uh! 100 bucks on peripherals?

Are you adding to his set up anSSD? right? also, a BIG HDD? a decent cooling, and with decent i mean at least water cooling...

Its just my opinion, but throwing $100 for mouse and keyboard in a new build its just not a good decision, that money can go to a better processor or GPU, in this case... saving money and using on the CPU would be much better than peripherals, he can survive with a simple combo of mouse and keyboard of $30 for a month or so, then he can save up money and buy a mouse, then a keyboard, you know, its easier to swap and replace than a $160 or $200 processor....

Sorry But it had to say that, it just my humble opinion...

Hmm well he could get the keyboard and mouse next month and get a i5 now. Ill see with him

edit: ok well hes gonna go for the 8320. not the i5 since a i5 build is still about 90dollars more which isnt worth it.

some games the 8350 won some the i5 3570k so heill get the 8320 oc it a bit and all is good
