amd 6300 or i5 4460

ok guys Iam having trouble deciding between these and iam kinda on a budget so the amd is looking better as ill save money if i get it instead of the i5 4460, i going to be rendering alot in 3ds max after effects and some gaming, not alot tho maybe gta v (im not a big gamer) can the amd 6300 do that stuff good? or the i5 does it all better? worth the extra money?

For 3ds Max I would go intel and you may want to get a cheep nvida Quadro to go with it

For rendering, an overclocked fx6300 will probably beat an i5 4460.
But for gaming and normal tasks, the i5 still wins

However the i5 4460 will run very fast on the stock cooler with a normal power supply, low cost H81 motherboard, standard 1600Mhz memory and a single case fan.
Once you start overclocking the fx6300, you need a big cooler, more fans, more power, fast memory, all of which is hassle and money.

So the obvious choice is....
The i5 6500. In UK the skylake CPU and motherboard works out at a similar price to a 4460, but 10% faster.
