AMD 6350 vs 8350

Say I had a build with either the 6350 or the 8350. I would use a 7970 with both of them. How much of a performance bump would I see from using the 8350?

None if you would be gaming.

Both video cards are essentially same but 8350 has 8 cores instead of 6.
Games do not utilize more than 4 cores at the moment so it does not matter if you have 12, 8, or 6, rest would go waste always.

However future games would utilize 8 cores since PS 4 and Xbox One both are octa core and so would be their ports.
Keeping that in mind, FX 8350 is advised.

you would see a difference in Crysis 3 from the extra cores, and expect more future games to also utillize more cores. Or get an i5 and have great performance in all games despite weather or not they are optimized for lots of cores.
