amd 64 4000+

got a question i got my new mb and processor and slaped them in it seems to be working fine, but now im trying to make sure all the settings are right. i had the ram in the wrong slots at first but changed that, now im checking the other stats and one thing confuses me. it has a section for adjusting the cpu fsb frequencey... shouldnt the amd 64 be like 1000 or something? its set to 200. should i mess with that?

also what5s the agp frequency? thats set to 66

oh and one more thing. the AGP aperture size is defaulted to 128.. my graphics card is a 256 should i set it to 256 or is that something else?

btw the chips an amd 64 4000+, mb is a mbit K8N neo2 platinum

I don't know a whole lot about the 4000+ but the 200 FSB is what mine runs at stock so that sounds about right. The thing that sends the fsb up are the multipliers... I believe that the 4000+ is a 2.4 MHZ processor so it would run at 200x12 (12 being the multiplier.) If your FSB was 1000 you would have problems. My AGP is set to 66 as well, but I did change my aperture size from 128 to 256.

ht is already at max so thats not a problem.. hrm so no one messed with the agp frequency? what does that do anyway? im guessing a higher number is better it looks like it goes to 100, you all left it at 66 though so i dunno

had another question too, whats the 1t/2t memory timing do? should i mess with that or just leave it on auto? i have all my memory stuff set on auto right now because im not sure what to set it too, but this one seems important

oh and is there a way to see if my grfx card has fast wright avalible on it? i got a raedon 9800xt

If your memory can handle it, 1T will give it a decent boost. It gave me a 1000 point boost in 3dmark2k1 with a puny lil 9800pro.

cool i got it on 1t and it seems to be doing fine.. anyone know how to check if my gfx card can do fast write? i dont wanna just turn it on cuz im not sure if that could hur it. i got an ati 9800 XT
