AMD 64 CO revision

I just found out that the A64 3000+ I'm getting is of the 512k CO type.

Will this overclocker to 2.5ghz like the CG's and allow me to get a 250 1:1 memory?

Or should I just ebay it at a loss of 20 bucks?

The 250mhz buss will be more of a MB function than CPU, but I'm going to say NO! You won't get there with CO stepping.

I 1/2 agree with Cyber. If your board allows you to lock the mem bus @ 200, and have super cooling, the chip may get to 2.5. The problem usually lies with the ODMC. It generally fails first. There is a volt mod, but that often ends with the chip frying.
