well a few days ago i was going to buy the 7850 but now some one told me just to replace my 6850 fan with a aftermarket cooler he/she told me something like this
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835186046&Tpk=Arctic%20Cooling%20Accelero%20Twin%20Turbo%20Pro%20Cooler
because my 6850 fan didn't last 3months but the card is still working perfectly.
just wondering should i just buy the cooler and another 6850.?this is the 6850 i use http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161384

and my spec are
i5 2500k oc 4.5ghz
amd 6850
cpu cooler evo 212 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103099
8gb ram cosair Vengeance
cosair 650w http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139020
ASRock Z68 EXTREME4 GEN3 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157264
Case Raidmax Aeolus Gaming Mid-Tower Case http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811156252
wireless http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833124342

will two 6850 fit my case?and is that aftermarket cooler a good choice?is it worth crossfire?

Solution
If your not in any kind of hurry to get a new card then waiting would be a good option. Nvidia is set to release more new cards in thier 600 model line and if the 680 was any indication of what thier pricing is going to be then you can count on AMD slashing prices. You may even end up with two 7850's by a combination of price cuts , rebates and you saving a few more dollars by waiting. So it could be a very good situation for you.
First the fact that the fan didn't last long isn't an indication of the fact that all of the fans are going to do the same thing you most likely just got a defective one. The aftermarket cooler would be a good choice and should keep the card from heating up too much. If you went with that cooler would you also get one for the other 6850 you plan to buy?
The good news is that you should have no trouble fitting that cooler on your motherboard because the slots are far enough apart to accomodate that cooler. You will have a hard choice to make because the 7850 is a better card than the 6850 but it will cost you less to add another 6850.

i haven't got any aftermarket cooler not sure if i should get that one. just looking for some recommendation i got a 250$ budget for a gpu i would be able to get the 7850 but if 2 amd 6850 will run better then a single 7850 and because i have a 6850 just need a gpu cooler for it then the price will be cut some what in half. i'm just not sure what to do xD.the 6850 fan atm is running ok if the speed is on 20 but any higher it gets really bad.

To me it would be a no brainer to simply go for the 7850. Two 6850s in crossfire are prone to micro-stutter. I don't know if any of you read the article on this very website, but cards like two 6850s in crossfire will micro-stutter much more than any two cards in SLI. Spending money on aftermarket coolers for a 6850 is also not such a great idea.

I say go for the 7850 all the way.

I'm not sure what everyone is talking about, but maybe I'm just really lucky, because I've been running 6870's in crossfire for a while now and have not noticed any micro-stuttering at all. My games have been running really smooth, though the vid cards are pretty loud on full load. Just my 2 cents.

i like leaving my pc running 24/7 that's another reason i don't want to get a video card that's two loud my desktop is right next to me i'm also thinking of changing my cpu cooler to liquid cooling not sure if something like the h100 or h80 i will need to do some research on liquid cooling the evo 212 is not loud but still i like sleeping with out hearing the fan.i did oc the pc to 4.5ghz at 1.25v but it does get a bit hot because its almost summer that's another reason i want a new gpu one that's not so loud and will run cool.does the 7850 runs quiet and cool?should i change the cpu cooler? to liquid any suggestion?.i also need a new screen i was using my tv as the screen 40" 1080p toshiba but now i'm using a hannspree tv 19" 1366x768 not even 1080p whats a good screen to run games like bf3/skyrim and watching shows on netflix with a 7850 i will probably spend about 200-300$ on a screen.

I do liquid cooling for the cpu , gpu and ram the temps stay low all the time even when gaming and there is not much fan noise. You do have to put fans on the radiators but they can be low noise ones and then you would just need two for the case to keep an air flow going through the case. I have two radiators with a total of 7 120mm fans on them and I don't hear them , there are 4 case fans with a fan controller and the sound is very low. The temps on the video cards don't get above 45c and the cpu doesn't go above 50c. You can see my computer spec's in my signature below.

The 6870 has issues microstuttering, I can say that from first hand experience (5670 didn't have any such issues). As to whether it's hardware or driver related has yet to be determined. I've heard of people also having issues with the 5850 and 7850, so it seems to affect X8XX cards.
